About the Role

The family is seeking a kind, live-in nanny and house manager for their family. Their baby is less than a year old, and the ideal candidate will have a teaching background for infants/toddlers. As a house manager, she will be critical in maintaining order and tidiness of the home, scheduling and attending appointments, and completing daily tasks to keep the house running efficiently.

Duties
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the household
• Manage inventories that includes proper stocking of household items.
• Manage and schedule staff such as nannies when you are off. This includes interviewing potential candidates and creating a list of exceptional substitutes to fulfill your role while you are away.
• Travel with the family while on duty. This may include out of town trips. Ensure needed items for the baby are packed, research lodging/transportation that are baby friendly, local babysitters are arranged, and baby’s travel documents and needs are in order.
• Change crib sheets and ensure all laundry of the baby is completed and put away as needed and at least bi-weekly.
• Ensure bed linens, bath rugs, kitchen towels, hand towels, and washable carpets are cleaned and changed bi-monthly.
• Maintain household contractor appointments (i.e. housekeeper, etc.) and update calendar.
• Handle various appointments for the baby (i.e. doctors appointments, school obligations, play dates, etc.) and keep the online calendar up to date.
• Conduct research on baby and household topics such as local plumbers, Mommy/baby groups, children’s library events as they arise.
• Handle all returns. The family will drop off the packages to the designated carrier for the return.
• Prepare the house and organize baby’s parties and get togethers as needed.
• Maintain baby toys and clothes (diaper size changes, cloth size changes, etc.) as age changes
• Maintain safety measures (baby-proofing) of the house at all times.

Requirements
• Infant/Toddler or elementary school teaching experience preferred.
• Discretion and confidentiality with private family matters.
• Household management experience is highly desired.
• Attention to detail and a kind, understanding demeanor.
• Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing a foreign language as a native speaker is a plus but not required. Preference Sinhalese ( Sir Lanka)
• Able to carry an infant ( 25-35 pounds)
• Can work with others in a collaborative environment
• Competent and self sufficient
• Vaccinated for TDAP and MMR

Job Type:
• Full-time, Live In (room and board included), 4 month trial contract followed by an annual contract preference long term
Expected hours: 40 per week
Location: Arkansas
Benefits:
• Minimum hourly rate of $28.00
• Three weeks paid time off (PTO)
• Free room and board, including meals
• Access to the family’s vehicle, with gases expenses covered
While a personal vehicle is not required, the family prefers a candidate who is multilingual

Three verifiable professional childcare references

Non-Smoker

Eligible to legally work in the US
